Mid-term Evaluation of Blogging

Before this class, I have never read a blog never mind contributing to one. I personally do not care for blagging as a whole and unfortunately have not been on top of my blog. In spite of that, after reviewing the blogs that I have contributed along with comments I have added I see how this can be a helpful tool for some students and teachers.

Blogging simply furthers class room discussion and ensures that all students contribute something, however just like speaking in class I am certain that there are some students that like this means of participation over speaking as well as there are students that prefer speaking over blogging. I believe that this can a great tool enhancing the learning experience for all students but instead of being such a largely weighted part of a course grade be something that is taken into consideration for the the percentage of an individual's grade for participation.

I think this because, in my opinion, it is the same as discussion. Blogging is individual's opinions on text being commented on by others, it provides insight from different people and causes students to think more on certain topics the same as discussion. I do not believe that it provides for a good study guide or study resource like the collaborative notebook or other things do and therefore should be left under the category of participation.
