Prior to coming into this class, I had never blogged. To be honest, I had never even imagined ever having to blog. I had never truly understood the concept of the work. Never did I actually realize just how useful something such as blogging could be, especially in this kind of setting in the classroom. I’ve found it to be quite interesting and a good experience.
Looking back on my posts, I’ve come to realize something. In my very first post, I thought I knew exactly what I was doing. As I look to this post now, I’ve come to realize that I really didn’t know at all what I was doing in the slightest. I was very unsure of myself and quite nervous. As I stated above, I had never even attempted posting to a blog before. My post about the love in A Midsummer Night’s Dream was beyond weak. I have to say that I am more than disappointed in myself.
What I’m more disappointed in myself with is my lack of posting. With all the personal matters that I had to attend to, I’m afraid that I neglected my work here on the Shakespeare Blog. Therefore, this post that I’ve got today will have very little for me to reflect on. Another thing that seemed to disappoint me about my blog posts, as few as they were, I was never able to actually pick one thing to focus on. I notice in everyone’s posts, they usually pick a particular topic and role with it for each post. Usually focusing on characterization, I’ve noticed. I’m sure that will be changing shortly, finding myself something that I can focus on regularly for my blogs.
My most recent post I have to say that I’m more proud of than my first. With my comparison of Othello and Much Ado About Nothing, I’m really happy with the outcome of this one. My posts seemed to have grown stronger since I began. I was able to really focus on what was important and actually convey all the ideas that I wanted to get it. With my mind being less cluttered with my personal issues, my work was better focused.
All in all, I take something out of this “Mid-Term Blog” assignment. Thanks to this assignment, I was actually able to see how my work was and the steps that I can take in order to better it. Thankfully, I might add in as well.
