Twelfth Night Production

I really enjoyed seeing the scene where Olivia was opening up to Cesario. We saw this performance in class by the two actors but it was exciting to see it in person when they had their costumes on. I think the actor who played Viola did a great job of switching roles, even if she didn’t tell us that she put a lot of time into her role as a gender change you could tell because she played both very well. When reading the scene where Orsino and Cesario are talking about love I didn’t take it as being very romantic. But seeing it acted out, the two of them on the floor face to face opening up about love was very intimate. It was easier to see that this is when Ceasrio(Viola) starts to have feelings for Orsino something I didn’t really pick up on in the play. As a few people have pointed out, I was also wondering if Orsino knew that Ceasrio was a woman or he was really falling for a man. I guess maybe Shakespeare left that up to interpretation; it also depends on how the director wants to look at it.
