Midterm Blog

Rereading my posts gave me a better insight on what to really focus in on. I noticed my posts got a lot more insightful as the course went on. The first post I wrote about was depression and Antonio in Merchant of Venice. Although I made a clear connection with lost love and Antonio I feel I could have had more quotes and evidence to back my claim up. In my second post I feel I had a better grasp on the Measue for Measure play. I wrote about the subplot which a lot of people never pay attention to when reading a play. I thought it would have been a good idea to show the underlying actions. It gave a great foreshadowing to what was ahead in the play. Especially since subplots always involve common villagers. My last post I wrote about was a common theme in Richard II. I thought this was my best post because I really brought out one of the themes of the play which was prophecy. I also gave good supporting quotes and examples from certain acts. I really feel my posts will only get better at the semester comes to an end. One thing I would change is my grammar and spelling. I need to closely reread my passages before I hit the publish post button. This was really surreal to read your own posts. I think it is a good reflection because it brings out any imperfections you may need to work on. This deffinitely helped me because I know now what to focus on when I blog about the next play. I think the best post to revisit is the subplot of Measure for Measure because now it can be added to as the play came to an end. We now see how the common villagers gave us great insight on what was to come in the play. Also even some of those characters made it into the main plot. Any subplot of a play should always be brought to anyones attention and even looked at with careful interpretation. I know now for the next play I wil pay attention to the subplot and any important themes which may pop out. One other thing I really appreciated were the comments. I like the option that my classmates can comment on my posts. It helps me reflect back on what I post and also hear what their opinions are. If I was unclear about a plot point one of them could help me understand and further my interpretation of the play. I really like blogging because it is a small site with everyones big opinions are screaming out. I love to hear everyones interpretation of each act of different plays. It is really cool to see everyone respecting what each other have to say and adding comments to eachothers posts.
