Looking back on the previous blogs I've written I was surprised to find a pattern. I tend to focus on the evolution of the characters in the plays we have read. In my first blog, "Portia commands the room" I focus on the court scene and how Portia evolves during the trial. My second blog, "Two Different Types of Harry's" focuses on Prince Harry's plan to evolve from low life to royal king. I seem to be most interested in how the characters change over the course of the play and how certain events have an effect on the path the lives of the characters take. When my blogs are compared to each other the one evolution that is apparent is that the focal point of my blog changed. In the first blog(Portia Commands the Room) i focused solely on Portia and her achievements, but in my second blog I decided to juxtapose Prince Harry and Harry Percy against each other and spotlight Prince Harry's proposed evolution.
I enjoy the blogging assignment because it allows me to express how i feel about the plays that we are reading in this class. Other classes don't have this type of outlet where students can demonstrate how they truly feel about certain themes that shakespeare writes into his plays. This blogging assignment has also enabled me to appreciate my fellow classmates more because they are opening my eyes to things i had never thought of when reading Shakespeare. I've been exposed to ideas and analysis of readings that have changed my view on certain plotlines.
