Although writing and contributing to class are things that I am very familiar with, the idea of incorporating technology and the internet into these things is something I am not. In all honesty, the concept of technology is something that I have never fully grasped and something that has never come easy to me—even as I signed into the blog I found myself experiencing some minor difficulties. I’ve always considered myself aware of technology, in a broad aspect, but will admit that I am extremely intimidated by its complexity and depth.
With the technology and internet portion of blogging out of the way, I think the content of our blog is what helps to bring a modern edge to Shakespeare. I enjoy reading how my classmates can draw comparisons from the works we have read in class, to issues we are dealing with today. As far as my own personal blogging is concerned, I have realized certain aspects of Shakespeare’s writing, such as relationships between characters, have consistently piqued my interest. Although the characters were created centuries ago, I find it extremely interesting how their traits and attributes are still applicable today. I think the whole blogging aspect of class has helped to raise interesting class discussion and has helped to incorporate a younger and more contemporary side to work that is “more mature.”
